Mobilized for the Olympic Games in Italy
03/04/2026
On the occasion of the Winter Olympic Games held in Italy, our subsidiary Refrigerant Italia, a distributor of refrigerants in Italy, played a key role in the energy performance of the press room dedicated to foreign journalists, set up in the former Fiera Milano building (an exhibition and events venue in Milan).
To equip the installations, one refrigerant was used: R410A. This choice was driven by the nature of the installed equipment, which is exclusively dedicated to air conditioning. However, as these systems are heat pumps, they also provide heating for the spaces.
In total, 3.2 tonnes of R-410A were supplied to meet the needs of the installation. In line with our commitment to responsible refrigerant management, we plan to recover the entire declared volume.
Recovery operations are currently underway. The refrigerant will then be transported to our site in Noventa, where Marco Coletti (Production Manager) will carry out the necessary analyses before processing it in our dedicated facility. We estimate that the regenerated product will be available by mid-April 2026.
Once regenerated, the R-410A can be reintroduced to the market as reclaimed gas.
The end customer is an intermediary specializing in the installation and maintenance of thermal systems. This collaboration illustrates our ability to support our clients on large-scale international projects, combining technical expertise, logistical performance, and environmental commitment.
Through this operation carried out as part of the Olympic Games in Italy, our subsidiary once again demonstrates its expertise in managing the full lifecycle of refrigerants: from distribution to regeneration.
